The Riverfront in Detroit

Residents of Detroit flock to the riverfront as the snow melts and the grass sprouts. Under the direction of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, the entire area along the Detroit River has undergone extensive renovations. This non-profit organization is dedicated to the creation, operation, improvement, security, maintenance, programming, and expansion of the Detroit RiverWalk and surrounding green spaces.

As the weather warms, the riverfront becomes a hub of activity. There are yoga and tai chi classes, running and biking races, walking tours for seniors, rock and pop concerts, and much more. The Detroit Riverfront is a great place to visit if you're looking for things to do in Detroit today. The Tour of the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant

The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Tour takes visitors to Detroit's only open-to-the-public "Brass Era" auto assembly plant. The Ford Piquette Road plant, a National Historic Landmark, was built in 1904 and was the first factory owned by the Ford Motor Company and specifically built to manufacture the Ford. Mr. Ford designed his Model T in that building, ensuring his place in history for the rest of his life.

Visitors can touch the beautiful brick walls and walk on the factory's original wood floors, which have become slightly worn over time as workers manufactured and assembled various Ford models. You can even sit in one of the gleaming old Fords and transport yourself back to the days of the automobile revolution. Mr. Ford's office has also been meticulously preserved and is open to the public. If you're looking for something to do in Detroit on a rainy day, this is a great place to go.

Cliff Bell

Everything about Cliff Bell's harkens back to a more elegant and romantic era – a time of speakeasies, prohibition, and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Cliff Bell's reminds me of a time when going to a club meant dressing up in an evening gown or a black suit. The restaurant is housed in an artfully renovated Art Deco building designed by Albert Kahn in the 1930s. The club's charm and lavish interior are only matched by the superb food, which is another nod to the 1930s.

Customers can enjoy their food while listening to long-time favorite tunes and tapping their feet in the restaurant-style seating. The cocktail menu includes old favorites, such as a Hemingway. Naturally, the music is and will always be timeless – it is jazz at its best and in all of its guises. Musicians travel from all over the world to perform at Cliff Bell's, which is always a great place to dine, unwind, and enjoy the music.

The University of Michigan's Michigan Science Center

The Rattlesnake Club's formal name is The Rattlesnake Club.

The Rattlesnake Club, located in the Stroh River Place complex, is a 25-year-old Detroit institution that serves excellent food while overlooking the Detroit River. When the weather permits, visitors can enjoy a refreshing breeze on the spacious terrace. The restaurant follows a strict policy of serving only the highest quality seasonal and sustainably harvested foods. In all of their dishes, the kitchen uses locally harvested produce, certified prime Angus beef, and not-from-farms finfish and shellfish.

There is a large wine selection as well as many locally brewed beers. Throughout the summer, Executive Chef Chris Franz will provide grill-inspired hands-on instruction and demonstrations. On occasion, he will share his tips and tricks on the Club's Garden Terrace. Keep in mind that this fine dining establishment has a dress code that is slightly formal/business casual.

The Dime Store

Dime Store, located in the Chrysler House in downtown Detroit, is a popular American Brunch Bar. Dime Store offers breakfast, lunch, and beverages. Brunch is available all day, which will please diners. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the décor is modern and inviting. The Feria

La Feria is a Spanish tapas and wine bar that must be visited on a cold Michigan evening to fully appreciate the dining experience. As you enter, you are greeted by an inviting warmth and an explosion of colors and aromas reminiscent of a Seville summer. The restaurant is small, with only one room and rustic wooden tables.

The atmosphere, on the other hand, is sizzling. Rioja and sangria flow freely, and cold and hot tapas are hurriedly served from the kitchen. It's easy to imagine what it must be like in Seville during the annual feria in this lively setting (weekly festival.) Pilar Baron Hidalgo, the chef and owner, happily and creatively experiments with traditional Spanish recipes, drawing on everything she has learned from her mother and grandmother. La Feria isn't a big place, but it's very popular, so don't be surprised if there's a line.
